Driftwood Bulletin Boards

Follow the footpath to North Chesterman Beach, and turn right to head towards Henry Nolla’s historic Carving Shed, next to the Wickaninnish Inn.

Driftwood is such an amazing material to work with, each little piece is incredibly beautiful on its own. I always like to say you don’t have to do anything to it. You just need to find a place for it.—-Jan Janzen

Jan Janzen’s unique driftwood art “marries” building with art and uniquely salvaged materials. His driftwood bulletin boards grace both the north and south entrances to Chesterman Beach.

I do encourage people to nurture their creative side, their artistic side even if it’s just for themselves.

As you walk along Chesterman Beach, you may also spot “Charlotte’s Gazebo” in one of the private backyards overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
